  • Gweru today is hosting the Love Zimbabwe Festival, a four-day evangelistic campaign which blends sport, art and music to empower young people with the aim of preaching  Jesus Christ to the world. The event is taking place at Mkoba 5 open space, with free entry at the gates

Dr Desmond Henry, the  International Director of the Palau Global Network of Evangelists (GNE), says the festival focuses on sacrificing together and being obedient to Christ’s mission.”

The Gweru event is part of a four-city campaign which began in Chinhoyi in April and will continue to Bulawayo later this month before concluding in Harare in September.

Love Festival Gweru Chairperson, Senior Reverend Elton Tirivokunze, the festival looked forward to addressing issues of drug and substance abuse among young people by engaging young people in sports and art, providing a fresh pathway for hope.

“We are rediscovering the church’s role in fostering unity across denominations and social groups, partnering together in the body of Christ", he said.

The festival, which runs from August 21 to 24, will feature a lot of activities including BMX riders, footballers, illusionist acts, musical performances, and skits among other performances.
