Midlands - In a dramatic but realistic action of robbery which unfolded in the streets of Gweru’s Central Business District on May 28 2025, a chinese businessman lost what is believed to be thousands of dolars in a robbery confrontation which ended in high-speed chase between the victim and suspects.
According to eyewittnesses two robbers, stole a Chinese nationalit’s bag containing valuable items, including passports, a laptop, and thousands of dollars.
it is believed this happened after the two suspects pretended to be good Samaritans and knocked on the window of the victim’s vehicle, claiming that oil was leaking from the back tyre.
It is at this moment that the driver of the Chinese man, Robert Mudzimu, stepped out to check his vehicle when the robbers swiftly snatched the bag from the Chinese who was seated at the back.
Upon realising the incident Mudzimu took to the steering wheel ,chasing the thieves, who were fled in a silver Honda Fit which was registered under a fake number plate.
Meanwhile Police in Midlands confirmed receiving the reports but are yet to release a detailed investigation on the matter as the suspects are still at large.
