    Newly appointed ZIFA Electoral committee member ,Dube vows to serve with integrity

  • Prominent Lawyer and Former Gweru Urban Parliamentarian, Brian Dube, who has a strong foundation of legal background, has vowed to uphold integrity as he upholds his new appointment as the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Electoral Committee member.


    Prior to his appointment, Dube served as a member of the ZIFA Central Region Disciplinary Committee for over 10 years, the board responsible for conducting hearings for players and club officials. However, his new appointment will see him serve the committee for the next 4 years.


    As he accepts his appointment, Dube says he is proud to be part of a dedicated team that is keen to foster nation-building through sports


    "We need be establish news investment circles in soccer as it is a big business, but sponsors are attracted by the association if there are people of integrity running the sport."

    "Therefore, the country needs to build more stadiums and promote grassroots sport through funding primary and secondary educational competitions.


    “Looking at football, I can safely say it's a family sport that requires discipline and transparency, as it can serve as it best serves an important pillar for national peace and reconciliation," Dube said.


    Some of his responsibilities, which come with his new appointment as a member of the Electoral Committee, include organising and supervising the electoral process, ensuring adherence to ZIFA’s statutes, regulations, and electoral code, as well as overseeing the committee’s strategic objectives within its mandate.


    Meanwhile, in a letter which has been addressed to Dube by Zimbabwe Football Association ( ZIFA) President, Nqobile Magwizi, the association expressed its pleasure in appointing Dube to the committee, acknowledging his “expertise, dedication, and contributions to the development of Zimbabwean football.
