Police in Midlands arrest 2 suspects for armed robbery ,rape in Redcliff, Kwekwe.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of Mpandawana Masango (43) and Thandazani Moyo alias Faa, in connection with multiple cases of armed robbery and r@pe in Redcliff, Kwekwe. The incidents occurred on September 2 and 3, 2025, between 8 am and 4 am.

Detectives from CID Kwekwe tracked Mpandawana Masango after he was found using a stolen cellphone from a house in Angelbert, Redcliff, on September 3, 2025. He was arrested in Nkulumane 5, Bulawayo, leading to the recovery of two cellphones.

Masango implicated Thandazani Moyo, who was arrested in the Western area, Bulawayo. Authorities also recovered the suspects' getaway car, a Honda Fit (ADU 9899).

The suspects are linked to seven robbery cases, including a robbery in Musgrave, Redcliff, on September 2, 2025, involving theft of USD 751 and ZAR 400 cash plus a cellphone. There's also a robbery and rape case on September 3, 2025, where one suspect sexually abused a complainant and stole cash and a cellphone.

Another robbery in Angelbert, Redcliff, on September 3, 2025, involved theft of USD 5,000 cash and a cellphone.
