
Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of 37 year 37-year-old man on allegations of murder. He is alleged to have struck a Chief's Messenger who wanted to serve him with a summons to appear at the Communal Court.
The incident occurred on 24 June 2025 at around 1130 hours at Village Munukwa under Chief Nemangwe in Gokwe.
Circumstances are that the now deceased, Moses Moyo, approached the suspect, Brighton Maketo, with the intention of serving him with a summons to Headman Ndlalambis Court.
A misunderstanding arose between the two, resulting in a fist fight. Maketo allegedly used a stool and an axe to assault Moyo on the head and leg. Moyo succumbed to the injuries whilst at Maketos' homestead.
The suspect Brighton Maketo was arrested by the Police, he will appear in court soon, Dailypress can reveal.
Police are appealing to members of the public to respect law enforcement agents at all levels.
