The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has suspended referee Rusununguko Mutero has been suspended from officiating in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) for a period of six (6)
The period covers matchday 24 to matchday 29 of the 2025 season. It means he has served two of those games after this weekend’s matchday 25 ties.
“The decision follows an assessment of his performance during the Premier Soccer League match between Green Fuel FC and FC Platinum, played on 26 July 2025 at Green Fuel Arena,” the Zifa statement read.
“The Match Commissioner’s report highlighted that Mr. Mutero’s officiating fell short of the required standards, thereby constituting a breach of paragraph 21 of the Referees’ Code of Conduct.”
Mutero is also believed to he failed to give what many believed was a stone-cold penalty.
